In continuation of our letter of the 5th January I have the honour to refer again to your letter No.53687/39 of the 22nd January regarding the proposed construction of a storage reservoir in the Tai Lam Chung Valley, Hong Kong.

2. The Consulting Engineers, Messrs. Binnie, Deacon

Gourley, have discussed the project with Mr. Henderson, who

until recently was Director of Public Works in Hong Kong, and

they now realise that the amount of work involved in carrying

out the scheme will be more than they thought when setting

out their fees in their letter of the 3rd January.

circumstances they have suggested that their scale of fees should be reduced to the percentages shown in their letter of

the 25th January, a copy of which is enclosed.
